Benches
Our benches are built to fit your space and your life, often with hidden storage tucked inside. Designed for tricky corners, busy entryways, or cozy nooks, they combine smart function with clean, lasting craftsmanship.

This Ash entryway bench, with its soft radiused edges and hidden storage, creates a warm, welcoming first impression. Must supply your own kitties.
The Hamilton bench in Ash, sourced from the great Kamada Wood. This client had a pragmatic and inspired vision of a beloved corner of their beautiful east-end home. I am honoured they had me in mind to make this bench with turned legs and custom cushions. I added one of my copper flourishes as a 'hallmark'. I am grateful for what I do.

This client asked for some extensive attic office millwork in Baltic Birch. This window box/nap area leads into the levitating desk/Baltic Birch filing cabinet workspace. Fun, practical and aesthetically pleasing. Now, back to work.
The Palace Pier entry bench, made of Sapele with copper flourishes. This lovely client wanted to welcome guests to their expansive gallery condo of art and mid-century modern furniture with a locally-made bench. Visitor footwear can also be tucked underneath.
This bay window bench is made for slow mornings, favorite toy trucks, and a little extra storage tucked out of sight. A cozy spot to kick back, chill out, and make the most of a bright corner.
At the finish of an extensive renovation and millwork build, this couple with a smart decoration plan purchased a vintage Hans Wegner table and Wishbone chairs. They then asked me to make a complimentary bench to nestle under the table when not in use. I was excited and pleased to provide this commission as Wegner is one of my design giants. The bench has become a small batch production piece, the Sorauren Bench.
This Fir bench, later finished in a warm brown stain and set on sleek metal legs, brings just the right mix of warmth and edge.
After a thorough and thoughtful renovation of an old church, these clients chose the Sorauren bench in White Oak to furnish their primary bedroom. It belongs in that spot.
Our chairs are built with the same care as everything we make—designed to fit your space, your style, and the way you live. Comfortable, timeless, and crafted to last through everyday moments and gatherings alike.
A lovely couple dropped by the shop with a weathered mid-century modern plywood chair designed and fabricated by the family patriarch in 1955! We repaired the original (for posterity) and fabricated two more as new additions to the family heirloom legacy.

Beds matter. We spend a lot of life there, so they should look as good as they feel. Our beds are built to ground a room with warmth, style, and lasting craftsmanship, designed to fit your space, your life, and every moment in between.
This Japanese inspired low platform bed in Western Red Cedar, Sapele and highly figured domestic Black Walnut was designed to be the natural compliment to the cedar strip feature wall. This thoughtful deliberate client has had an amazing vision of their home through a very lengthy and rewarding renovation.
This mid-century modern queen bed frame was made with locally-sourced prime Black Walnut, seasoned at the shop for nearly a decade. Slatted Baltic Birch mattress support not shown.
I dreamt of a bedroom like this as a 10 year old. Many hours of model making and studying will be so much more enjoyable and able to be tucked away in the hidden storage area, thanks to mom and dad. Mattress not shown.
